On November 14th, 2017, NLRA had its minigolf showcase. This showcase was a way for new students to talk to people of the community and get to know each other. I was one of the new students that took part in the minigolf showcase and it was truly an amazing experience for new students. Also, the showcase was a way for NLRA to raise money for the Rube Goldberg team. Mark Beise advertised on the radio and posted it on different types of social media. I know from a personal standpoint that this was a great and fun way to raise money for a good cause. Also, I know a lot of the students had fun building their courses and presenting to the public. The process lasted around 3 months, which was a little short, if you think about how well everything looked and worked, that shows how much effort all the students worked to make sure that we were prepared to present to the public. We had roughly 50-60 people who attended the event on Nov. 14th. We raised $238 for the Rube Goldberg team. I know that the mini golf hole that Andrew Deraitus and I made was well made and well put together, and the same for everyone that participated in the event. Andrew and I made a maze that was painted flat black. Isaac and Paxton’s was had working computer monitors, Andrew H. and Peyton was a little camp, and Braeden’s was a very intricate design. It was a big ramp with a split in the middle and had a 50/50 chance to get down to the hole. All the students that worked on the mini golf project spent hours during and after school to make they were presentable to the public.
